So in theory I would have maybe 25 sets of soft jaws by now. I know that eventually that would start to die down but it would be a while. A set of soft jaws, machined to suit, would take care of your work mounting issue.

Kuhn Rikon Dual Knife Sharpener
Od sharpening takes more extensive equipment and changes the OD size. It would be neat to have a T&C grinder but you can buy a lot of nice new sharp end mills for what it would cost to set up to do it well. Thanks for the ideas unfortunately the picture show is the exception rather than the rule. I have done maybe so far except for that picture I have not had to do more than 1 of any particular make model year.
Continue sharpening until the black ink line is gone and the entire edge is shiny, indicating the blade is sharp. Sharpen the blade by holding your whetstone or file at the same angle as the bevel. Never lift your sharpening tool for complete and consistent sharpening.
To keep your knife sharp, use the fine setting once after every couple of hours’ use. It Has The Potential To Remove More Metal – Because it has the potential to remove a lot of steel, I’d recommend using this method for excessively dull nail clippers only.
